Daniel has worked as a Sign language interpreter since 2006, having completed his initial interpreter training at the University of Wolverhampton and qualifying as a Registered Sign Language Interpreter (RSLI) via the University of Central Lancashire in 2009. His early interpreting career started within community and medical settings, followed by specialising in academic postdoctoral research interpreting at the Deafness, Cognition and Language research centre (UCL) and now mental health settings.
Throughout his career Daniel has worked within every interpreting domain except for police and court interpreting. Daniel has undertaken training in mentoring and is registered as a Supervisor (for trainees) with the National Register of Communication Professionals working with Deaf and Deafblind People (NRCPD). He is confident working into both English and British Sign Language, working with people who have minimal language or those with mental ill-health. Daniel can work solo or as part of a team.
